Philadelphia Eagles second-year linebacker Nakobe Dean will miss "multiple weeks" with a foot injury, according to a report from the NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.
The good news is Dean will not require surgery and should return to the field in 2023.
As a result, the Eagles are signing former Titans and Falcons LB Rashaan Evans to the practice squad, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Evans has 67 starts over the last five seasons recording 5.0 sacks, 2 INT, 12 PD, 2 FF, 5 FR and 476 combined tackles.
The Eagles were hoping Dean, a 22-year-old third round pick two drafts ago from Georgia, would be a major contributor on defense.
Now, Philadelphia turns to unfamiliar names like Zach Cunningham, Christian Elliss, and possibly the aforementioned newly acquired Evans to pick up the slack for Dean.
