Eagles Draft debate: WR in round one?

Some NFL mock drafts are suggesting the Philadelphia Eagles may consider taking a wide receiver in round one.

Joe Giglio says he'd be upset if that happened, calling that idea "crazy."

"These players might be good, but it's insane for the Eagles to draft a wide receiver [in round one]," Giglio said on Wednesday's 94WIP Midday Show. "They just lost half the defense that won the Super Bowl. They have hundreds of millions of dollars invested in A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. They don't throw the ball that much anyway! And they have a running game that is top of the league with Saquon [Barkley] and Jalen [Hurts] as part of it. I just think it would be crazy to draft a receiver in the first round.

"Now, could they use an upgrade on [Jahan] Dotson at some point? Sure. I mean third, fourth, fifth round, whatever. Get another young receiver. But I would be upset if they drafted a receiver in the first-round."

94WIP Eagles insider Eliot Shorr-Parks made the case for why it may make sense, pointing to roster flexibility and insurance insurance for A.J. Brown and/or DeVonta Smith.

Two names, in particular, that have been mentioned with the Eagles in mock drafts are Texas WR Matthew Golden and Missouri WR Luther Burden III.
