The Philadelphia Eagles were blown out by the Giants 27-10 on Sunday in Week 18, their fifth loss in their last six games and Joe Giglio gave his thoughts on Monday's 94WIP Midday Show.
"Here's where I'm at today, I'm not angry, I'm embarrassed," Giglio said at the beginning of the show with Hugh Douglas. "I'm embarrassed that this is what the Eagles have become, the team we root for has become a joke heading into the playoffs. I'm embarrassed that yesterday was a nightmare scenario for the franchise. It was the worst possible scenario. They played, they got beat, Dallas won, they got hurt, they took the guys off of the field anyway. It was a joke. I'm watching a head coach right now with zero answers, zero plan.
"I've always thought the Eagles were smarter than most teams. I no longer feel that with this guy as the head coach. I don't feel like they're smarter than most teams, in fact I feel like they're behind most teams now. Hugh, I'm embarrassed. They tried yesterday against a team that stinks. The Giants stink! They tried and got rocked yesterday by the New York Giants and then they had to put their tail between their legs and pull their starters off the field. It's among the most embarrassing moments for a team with a record this good I've ever seen in the NFL."
The Eagles, surprisingly, opened as small favorites on Monday at the Tampa Bay Bucs. The Bucs are entering the playoffs as winners of five of their final six regular seasons.
Philadelphia beat the Bucs in Week 3 in Tampa Bay on Monday Night Football 27-11.
