Reuben Frank on Nolan Smith: 'People are going to love this kid'

A lot of eyes will be on Philadelphia Eagles' rookie pass rusher Nolan Smith during Saturday's preseason opener against the Ravens, as Smith continues to get rave reviews from all of the Eagles' beat reporters.

"Nolan Smith has been really, really impressive," Eagles insider Reuben Frank told the 94WIP Morning Show on Friday. "People are going to love this kid. They're going to love listening to him, watching him, getting to know him, he's a trip. He's hilarious. He really does remind me of a young BG with his personality, his sense of humor. But he's just so quick off of the edge. I think edge rushers are going to shine more in a training camp setting than interior lineman, they're going to get more opportunities.

The 22-year-old has not played in a football game since October 29th, 2022 when he tore his pectoral muscle during his senior season as a Georgia Bulldog in a game against Florida.

Smith is excited to make his Eagles debut this weekend.

"I remember that feeling in my heart when I got, when I couldn't play another snap," Smith told the media on Friday.

Smith, who the Eagles were able to draft with the 30th overall pick, talked about his versatility as a pass rusher.

"I try to be like a Swiss army knife. I can play off the ball, on the ball, whatever coach needs me to do...but ultimately I can pas rush on any of the five offensive lineman, I'm a pass rusher."
