Joe Giglio says we're focusing on the wrong thing when it comes to Jalen Hurts regarding his leadership abilities over his on-field play.
"I actually think we're on the wrong thing here," Giglio said on Tuesday's 94WIP Midday Show. "I think we're talking about the thing that is the secondary piece of this. The leadership is secondary for me, it's his play that is number one."
Giglio's comments come following a Joe Santoliquito piece for Bleeding Green Nation, detailing some of Hurts' leadership and locker room issues stating that, "Sources within and around the team say Jalen Hurts "changed" since signing his big contract extension last offseason.
"When I think about Jalen Hurts and what part of his game I am more worried about moving forward here Hugh, it's not the leadership stuff," Giglio said. "For me it's the player, it's the on-field stuff.
"He is a guy that is now starting to have yearly injury issues. I understand he has to probably evolve as a leader, but I am more concerned about Hurts the player than Hurts the leader."
