The Philadelphia Eagles are losing vice president of football operations Jake Rosenberg, their long-time salary cap executive and close friend of Howie Roseman's, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane.
Rosenberg was with the Eagles for 12 seasons working his way up through the organization to be Roseman's right-hand man, as the two were elementary school friends.
Rosenberg seems likely to pursue a general manager position in the NFL, as he alludes to in his reason for departing the Philadelphia Eagles.
"Over a pretty extended period of time I have just thought to myself that if it doesn't seem like it's in the cards for me to advance in this league, and have a chance to keep pushing and growing, that at the end of the day, what is involved to do this in terms of a life perspective, it's not going to be worth it," Rosenberg told McLane.
Rosenberg has developed an excellent reputation around the NFL, as the Eagles have been one of the most successful franchises in terms of managing the salary cap.
