Eliot Shorr-Parks told Jon Marks and Ike Reese that he is feeling better about the Eagles on Tuesday and that sparked a debate with Reese, who simply asked, "Why?"
Eliot Shorr-Parks: "Because they're the better team. The Eagles are the better team than the 49ers. Sunday was not proof, but I think over the last two years—or beginning of last season—they've been the better team. They have the better quarterback. I still believe they have the better head coach...They were outplayed on Sunday, but I'll take the larger sample size over three quarters."
Ike Reese: "You're using things from the past to justify your feeling and it's your feeling, slash your opinion, not facts. It's your opinion that the Eagles are the better team and you're using the past to validate that."
Since 2021, under Kyle Shanahan and Nick Sirianni, the 49ers have beaten the Eagles two out of three times, with all three games coming at Lincoln Financial Field.
Ike Reese: "So don't give me a bunch of nonsense after Sunday's game because it didn't turn out the way we all hoped it would. Let's not turn into the forty whiners and make a bunch of excuses. We like to pride ourselves on being accountable fans and we can take a loss when it happens and give credit when it deserves to give credit. Well, let's not run from that right now. Let's live in our truth and it can change. Just because it's the way it is today, it doesn't mean it's going to be that way the next week, the following week or in January when they meet again. But we sound like a bunch of excuse makers when we don't give the guys the credit they deserve when they earned it on the field, as painful as it may be."
