Giglio: Eagles as 10-1 home dogs vs. 8-3 49ers is not disrespectful

The Philadelphia Eagles are the first team with a winning percentage this high (.909), this late in the season (Week 13), at home as an underdog with a healthy quarterback since the 2004 AFC Championship game when the Steelers were underdogs to the Patriots.

But Joe Giglio does not find it disrespectful to the Eagles.

"I understand why it is frustrating, but I don't think this is disrespectful," Giglio said on Tuesday's 94WIP Midday Show with Hugh Douglas.

"I understand why the line is what it is...But if you look at all the numbers from top to bottom, the Niners are better at basically every one except wins and losses. And I know that's the most important thing, but there is a reason why the Eagles are not favored in this game, or it's really close. I don't think this is disrespectful. I think you can make a case these are the two best teams in the NFL and the Niners' knockout punch is stronger than the Eagles. The Eagles win by decision. The Eagles win these hard fought, close games and they win at the end. The Niners bludgeon teams and that's the rest they're the favorite."

The 94WIP Morning Show asked Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni about being underdogs.

"Good, we like being the underdog," Sirianni told Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie on Tuesday's 94WIP Morning Show. "I think the first thing I ever knew about the city when I was a little kid was Rocky, he's always the underdog. We like being the underdog. No one thought much of us going into last season and we played the underdog role well and here we are, good. We like to be the underdog again."

The Eagles are currently 2.5-point underdogs in Sunday's NFC Championship rematch with the 49ers.
