Philadelphia Eagles are bringing back safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson on a three-year deal worth a maximum of $33 million, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Gardner-Johnson, 26, played for the Eagles in 2022 and recorded a career-high six interceptions, all in the first 10 games before suffering a lacerated kidney.
CJGJ helped gets the Eagles to the Super Bowl, playing in 90-plus percent of the snaps in all three of Philadelphia's playoff games that season, including the Super Bowl. He recorded 12 total tackles and one pass defended during that postseason run.
In his first season with the Lions last season, Gardner-Johnson suffered a torn pectoral in Week 2 and was not activated until Week 18.
In three playoff games with the Lions last season, he recorded 12 total tackles and one interception, as Detroit lost in the NFC Title game.
Gardner-Johnson was originally a fourth round pick of the Saints in 2019.
