It sounds like the Philadelphia Eagles' starters will be all systems go for Sunday's game at MetLife stadium against the Giants, as far as Lane Johnson is concerned.
"No, because I am playing either way," Johnson told 94WIP's Hugh Douglas and Joe Giglio when asked if he will be scoreboard watching the Cowboys-Commanders on Sunday.
"I mean it's a game," he continued. "I feel like one of these games right here is a good test when everybody is telling you, 'You might want to rest your starters or you might want to do this and get some relief.' I think it's good time for us to get our minds right. Obviously you want to avoid any injuries that are out there, but at the same time we want to get our offense and get our whole team going before the playoffs."
Johnson was asked about playing on the notoriously dangerous MetLife Stadium turf.
"I don't know why, I've always liked playing there, I guess because it's one of our closer games," Johnson said. "I feel like they've gotten new turf I believe. When we played the Jets I got to feel it. But, I don't know, you see all these getting injured there and it makes you think what is it really doing, is it jeopardizing people? At the end of the day, it's there and we'll adjust."
Head coach Nick Sirianni alluded to the fact that he was considering resting the starters earlier in the week, as the Eagles will be locked into the NFC's No. 5 seed if the Cowboys win at the Commanders.
