Vermeil, Didinger give their official Super Bowl LIX predictions

Both Ray Didinger and Dick Vermeil are picking the Philadelphia Eagles to win Super Bowl LIX over the Kansas City Chiefs.

"I think the Eagles are going to win," Didinger told Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie on Friday's 94WIP Morning Show. "Some of it is just gut feeling. A little bit of what I was feeling back in Super Bowl 52.

"I thought [the Eagles] were really impressive against Washington...Now a lot of people I talked to around the league are saying, 'Oh well, you guys got Washington in the championship game. That was an easy one.' Well, you weren't saying that on the eve of that game. The Eagles took them a part. I see this team peaking at just the right time.

"I know there's a lot of trends here that point the other way and I've considered all of those...Rematch games in the Super Bowl generally tend to play out exactly the way the first one did. I've been watching the Chiefs over the back half of the season and I just don't know that their defense can hold up against the Eagles' running game. I just don't. They just aren't real good against the inside zone stuff, they just aren't."

Dick Vermeil, the former Eagles head coach, is also picking Philadelphia to win the game.

"My computer says the Eagles will win by five points," Vermeil told DeCamara and Ritchie on Friday. "Now, I'm not sure I believe that. I do believe the Eagles are a better team and they should win the football game, but it's so hard to bet against Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes...My computer has been pretty accurate all year, believe me, especially in regard to the Eagles."
