Can the Eagles sustain greatness this time?

The Philadelphia Eagles enter the 2023 season as the favorites in the NFC. However, Joe DeCamara is remaining cautiously optimistic about the Birds, wondering if they really can sustain greatness—something the franchise has not been able to do often.

"I am struck by the fact that when you examine Eagles history, whether it is in the salary cap era, whether it is before the salary cap era, they have really struggled to sustain greatness," DeCamara said on Tuesday's 94WIP Morning Show. "What the Colts did under Peyton Manning, certainly what the Patriots did under Tom Brady, where they had either a decade or two decades of sustained greatness, the Eagles just haven't done that and the question is, will this time be different?

"While I know they have a shot to sustain greatness, I sense I probably don't think it's as likely, if I had to guess, Jon, as you do."

DeCamara has three things he believes everyone should agree on when it comes to the 2023 Eagles.

"Three things I think we all agree on, I think," DeCamara said. "Number one, they were the best team last year in the NFC, bingo no question, and many of us think they were best team in the league even though they lost that Super Bowl. Universal praise for what they put out there last year. Number two, they look like they should be the best NFC team again this year. And number three, they should have the best chance to reach the Super Bowl this year, and of course they could win it.
