Ike Reese is happy the Eagles got a win on Christmas and is not complaining about the type of win it was—a sloppy, one score victory over the now 5-10 Giants.
"Of course, it wasn't a pretty win, it wasn't a flawless win, but that's the Eagles," Reese said at the top of Tuesday's 94WIP Afternoon Show live from Chickie's & Pete's in South Philadelphia. "That's the 2023 Eagles. I'm sorry, I came into this realization weeks ago. That's what this team is. So the expectation that they're going to play some flawless game, that's gonna make us feel like they're the greatest team in the world and we're about to go win a Super Bowl—I'm sorry, I just don't expect that. That's more of a surprise than an expectation.
"They needed to win yesterday. That's three straight weeks of losing. Are you kidding me? It's tough to take one loss around here, let alone two in a row. Are you kidding me? Three in a row! So it's been miserable around here.
"Yesterday's win as far as I'm concerned, was something that was needed. It was needed. Was it flawless, no? Was it, pretty? No."
The Afternoon Show is live at Chickie's & Pete's in South Philly until 6pm, then it's the Brandon Graham Show from 6-7pm and then the Players' Lounge Show from 7-8pm.
