It was another ugly, sloppy, extremely close Eagles home win over the lowly Giants on Christmas, but Joe Giglio says he's actually feeling better about the Birds despite another uninspiring performance.
"I actually do [feel better]," Giglio said on Tuesday's 94WIP Midday Show with Hugh Douglas. "The way I look at yesterday, I stopped expecting this team to be dominant, to be great. I don't expect that. So I needed them to be better and I did see some signs yesterday, where they're going in the right direction. They doubled them up in first downs. I thought they controlled the game, albeit for three bad plays.
"I thought the game wasn't as close as the score. I thought they controlled that football game. And you know, they were sloppy and they did their silly things, that's why the Giants were able to make it a game late. But actually, Hugh, I actually did walk away feeling better about where—at least the offense is going. Because I thought they moved the ball yesterday probably the best since, I don't know when? The Dallas game in November? I thought the offense actually moved the football."
The Eagles, now 11-4, are tied with the 49ers and Lions for best record in the NFC. They could still earn the NFC's No. 1 seed by winning out and the Lions and 49ers, each, losing at least one of their final two games.
