Haason Reddick: Super Bowl is ultimate goal, but Eagles aren't getting ahead of themselves

Haason Reddick, obviously, has thought about the possibility of winning a Super Bowl with the Eagles.

But since the season started, he and his teammates have made every attempt not to get ahead of themselves.

The Eagles are off to a smashing start, sitting undefeated through six games. Things are looking complete in almost every area: Jalen Hurts seems like the real deal and the offense has been clicking, all while the defense has been sharp. They're fourth in the league in yards allowed per game, and sixth in points allowed.

So, it all seems to be falling into place for the Eagles. That, obviously, has led to many a prognosticator suggesting Philly will be the team hoisting the Lombardi Trophy at season's end.

For Reddick, who grew up just outside Philly and played at Temple in college, he's just focusing on the task right in front of them.

"Of course, before the season started I had thought about it," Reddick said in an appearance on CBS Sports Radio's "The Zach Gelb Show." "That was part of the reason for me coming home, being a part of the team that helps the city get another Super Bowl. But now that we're in season and we've been playing, it's important to stay focused on just taking the season one game at a time. Because when you start looking ahead, that's when things could go wrong or your focus can shift and you start worrying about the wrong thing.

"Is the Super Bowl the ultimate goal? Yes. But we have to go 1-0 each week right now even to get to that point. So instead of talking about what could come in the future, I'm only worried about what's going on right now, what's going on in the present, what can I do right now. That's the only thing I'm worrying about."

That approach has worked for the Eagles, who have a bye in Week 7. They'll look to climb to 7-0 next week when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers.
