Philadelphia Eagles general manager and executive vice president Howie Roseman is not afraid to make draft day trades and, according to NFL Network reporter James Palmer, he's trying to move up into the top 10.
"Howie Roseman has made calls, I've been told he's made calls about moving into the top 10," Palmer said on Thursday. "When I talked to other teams around the league, their guess is he's looking at corners, he's looking at pass rushers. He has this flexibility in the draft because of the capital they have gained. They have five picks in the top 101 overall picks."
"They gained an extra third round pick in that trade with the Saints. We focus on the extra first round pick next season, the extra second round pick in two seasons, but that extra third round pick [this year] can really help them moving up. They did it with DeVonta Smith a season ago, using a third rounder to move up in the first round. And at the same time, with that 18th pick, my understanding is he wouldn't mind moving back."
Palmer mentions Roseman's desire for pass rushers, specifically as well, citing the Eagles' inability to put pressure on opposing quarterbacks last season.
SI.com's Albert Breer also reports that the Eagles are looking to move into the top 10.
"The two that seem to have done the most significant groundwork on dealing up, as far as I can tell, are the Eagles and Chiefs," Breer writes. "I could see Philly moving up into the middle of the top 10, maybe for a corner, maybe for a pass rusher, maybe for a receiver."
