NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported that teams have begun calling the Eagles about trading for their franchise quarterback, Carson Wentz.

The organization has been staunch that they want Wentz back in 2021 and head coach Nick Sirianni has been evasive about the quarterback situation since his arrival in Philadelphia. Nonetheless, it looks like after the Rams-Lions trade that saw Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford swap teams, there is a market for Wentz.

Here is more from Rapoport and Garafolo:

The Eagles are not in a hurry to trade Wentz -- and in fact as of now intend for him to return for 2021 under new coach Nick Sirianni -- but they did field the calls and discussed the issue. GM Howie Roseman will almost always listen, and this is no different.

While Stafford went to the Rams (in principle) in exchange for two future first-round picks, a third-rounder and Jared Goff, it's unclear what the price would be for Wentz. But it would have to be enough to make it worth it for the Eagles to trade someone who would otherwise factor heavily into their starting QB conversation.

The same report mentions that Wentz and his agents have not formally requested a trade, although reports following the regular season indicated Wentz wanted to leave town. It became much more likely that Wentz would stay in Philly once Doug Pederson was fired, yet his qualms with the organization still might prevent a peaceful reception next season.
