ESP grills Sean McDermott on his anti-tush push stance
With the tush push ban reportedly expected to receive plenty of support around the NFL, 94WIP's Eliot Shorr-Parks questioned Buffalo Bills head coach and tush push detractor Sean McDermott on his stance.
"Even though there is not significant data out there to this point, my biggest concern is the health and safety of the players," McDermott told reporters at the NFL owners meetings in Palm Beach today.
"As you said there is really no data to say there is injuries. Like, what are you seeing that has you concerned" Shorr-Parks asked.
"It's force, added force number one and then the posture of the players being asked to execute that type of play," McDermott said.
"Do you think you'll continue to run the play...because I think you ran it quite a bit last year," ESP asked, if the play is not banned.
"A form of it, right? A form it. It's a loose term really in terms of what defines a tush push," McDermott responded.
ESP offered his thoughts on McDermott's comments following their exchange.
