Not much has gone right for the Eagles in recent weeks.
The offense is struggling, the locker room is ready to explode and the vaunted defensive front has recorded just four sacks in the last three games.
The last point has led some to believe the Eagles defense has become tired after the tough schedule they faced last month, but former Eagle Seth Joyner said on Wednesday's midday show that is not a valid excuse.
"Tired of what? This is what you do," the ex-linebacker said. "You get to do what you love and you get paid a king’s ransom for it, for 17 or 18 weeks…Get your ass in shape so you can play 18 games.”
After setting a franchise record with 70 sacks in 2022, the 2023 Eagles have managed to sack opposing quarterbacks just 41 times in 16 games.
"When people bring that up, I just get real quiet because I don't get it," Hugh Douglas added in agreement. "Sixty plays a game was par for the course. I only came off the field for goal-line and that was two or three plays per game."
Josh Sweat and Haason Reddick have both played over 800 snaps this season, the only members of the front to even cross the 700-snap threshold.
