Shady's endorsement of Jon Ritchie's 'Backs for Barkley' gets Jon in hot water with Joe & James Seltzer

We’re rolling out “Backs for Barkley” trying to get fellow rock-toters behind Saquon as the MVP, and our own Jon Ritchie was the first guy to jump in and take the wheel of the bandwagon.

It might get a little harder with Ben VanSumeren out for the season, but the Eagles signed a fullback (that’s not Jon, thankfully for our ratings), and they got a nice endorsement for Mr. Ritchie’s efforts from none other than SHADY!

As heard on the Midday Show with Joe & Hugh Tuesday:

“I gotta give a shout out to my guy, Jon Ritchie, he’s a Harrisburg legend, so shout out to him,” McCoy said before answering the question about Saquon for MVP: “Saquon is special man; first of all, when you have the best offensive line in the league, it makes it a lot easier for him, so now you're giving him these big holes and lanes. A guy with his talent that’s so explosive, so fast, so strong, it's hard to slow down his momentum, and then his God-given talent takes over with making a first guy miss and breaking tackles – and y’all forget how fast he is, too. And that's why he should get the MVP, and I've been arguing for the last three weeks that Saquon should be the front-runner for the MVP.”

So Jon and Joe DeCamara are loving the answer, but of course, Ritchie is loving the first part of it.

“I did not expect that,” Ritchie laughed.

“Obviously what he said about Saquon was really cool also, and I think right on point,” Joe replied before playing some more of McCoy’s segment, including saying ‘we go as far as Saquon takes us.’

“It’s full system go for all producers on WIP to get the B-Wests and Ricky Watters’ and Duce Staleys and Eric Dickersons and Barry Sanders and Bo Jacksons on the air,” Joe joked.

“I’ve got some irons in the fire,” producer James Seltzer chimed in, with Ritchie saying ‘I could’ve reached out to Shady’ and getting heat from Joe and James for never using his connections. “Anyone you know who you think we can talk to, get them!”
