The Flyers had multiple games postponed earlier this month with multiple players, including captain Claude Giroux, on the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol list, and the league announced numerous changes to its schedule to account for games that went unplayed.

In a massive reshuffling to account for postponements that affected the Flyers, Capitals, Sabres and others, Philadelphia had five changes made to its 2021 slate, with three games still in limbo.

The Flyers’ road game against the Capitals on Feb. 9 was postponed when two additional Flyers players entered COVID-19 protocol, and that game’s makeup date is still to be determined. Sunday’s scheduled game against the Rangers, which was also postponed, is also still waiting on a makeup date. A March 7 road contest against the Bruins has now been changed to a later date, but the specific day has not been announced.

As for firm changes to Philadelphia’s schedule, its home matchup with the Devils that was supposed to be played this past Thursday has been rescheduled for April 25 at 6 p.m. The two teams were also supposed to play on Saturday, but that will now be pushed back to May 10, with puck drop at 7 p.m. The Flyers’ road contest with New Jersey originally set for April 1 will now be played on April 21, also at 7 p.m.

Instead of hosting the Islanders on April 25, Philadelphia will now welcome New York on March 22 at 7 p.m. The final change comes to the Flyers’ home game with the Capitals on April 27. That game is now slated for March 7 at 7 p.m.

The Flyers are back in action on Thursday night against the Rangers, marking the team’s first game since Feb. 7, a 7-4 win over Washington.
