It's getting to be crunch time for the NFL and the NFLPA as players are getting closer to reporting to NFL facilities, including Texans and Chiefs rookies who are scheduled to report Monday.
According to NFL Media's Tom Pelissero, the NFL's latest proposal to the players includes just one preseason game. The last proposal had two. The game would be held the week of Aug. 27, which would be the week of the third preseason game.
But, players do not want any preseason games as they would like to have 21 days of strength and conditioning to prevent injuries after missing the entire spring workouts.
The one preseason game proposal is interesting from the league as it is asking half of it not to have one at home.
All other teams, including the Patriots, will have rookies report July 21, quarterbacks and injured players July 23 and all other players July 28.
Negotiations will continue Monday.
