Back at Citizens Bank like we never left. Opening Day is just around the corner and BetMGM Sportsbook has quite a few bets to look at for the defending NL champions. These three bets are ones I think are worth tailing or keeping an eye on as the baseball season kicks off.
89.5 O/U wins (-110)
The Phillies are more than capable of hitting the 90-win threshold. In 2021, they had 82 wins and in 2022 they had 87. Though they don’t quite have the same team as last season, the addition of Trea Turner (see below) and having as much of the stars as possible will help them get there. We know the Phillies team are capable of winning over 80 games, and BetMGM’s win total might move up. It’s safer to take this over now.

Trea Turner MVP (+1000)
I think it’s too soon to look at any futures, but I’m not opposed of this one. Turner is a base-stealing machine, accumulating 27 stolen bases in the 2022 season. With the increased base size, it’s only going to make his job that much easier. Plus, what were able to see with the World Baseball Classic is enough for me to keep an eye on him in the MVP conversation.
NL Pennant (+700)
It’s going to be a little harder now that Rhys Hoskins is out with an injury, however, I don’t think it derails the chance for the Phillies to go back-to-back to win the pennant. I think this Phillies team is capable of playing with the same fire they had that gave them success in the 2022 postseason. I want to see how this team handled some of their issues from last season, but I think this team is more than capable of taking the NL Pennant again.
