Angelo Cataldi had the honor of throwing out the first pitch before Sunday's Cubs-Phillies afternoon game and doing play-by-play for an inning in the 94WIP booth with Scott Franzke and Larry Andersen.
Cataldi is one who always makes sure to prepare, and the first pitch was no exception, as he practiced leading up to the big event. And the 71-year-old Philadelphia radio legend, surprisingly, delivered a heck of a pitch.
Cataldi did the radio play-by-play for the third inning on SportsRadio94WIP, and wouldn't you know it—the Cubs scored two runs, including a home run on Cataldi's first words!
"No! How did that happen, Cataldi said after the home run. "Said something, I'm alone. Larry [Andersen] left!"
