Are Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie buying the Phillies' summer surge? 'Everything finally feels right'

Since losing in Arizona in the first game of a four-game set on June 12, the Phillies have gone a perfect 11-0 away from CBP – winning the last three against the D-Backs and sweeping the A's and Cubs before winning the first two of three in Tampa, last night an 8-4 win.

The Phils are now 21-9 in June and July after a 25-30 start over the first third of the season – and they've moved into a virtual tie for the final Wild Card spot, currently ahead of the Giants based on the loss column.

Are you buying the Phillies' run, which looks a lot like last year's run to the World Series?

"They've done a really good job lately, and I'm just psyched with how they're playing," Joe DeCamara said on the WIP Morning Show Thursday. "This is an impressive stretch – it's not mission accomplished, but a huge step forward in getting this team to be a quality playoff team. If they keep rolling here, you enter the second half feeling good, and everything now feels right."

"I don't know how I feel about any of that," Jon Ritchie replied, before hammering Joe on his turnaround on feelings about Bryson Stott.
"But, they're a few wins away from being out of this group (around the third Wild Card spot) because they're not squeaking by."

"San Diego and the Mets have won a few games lately, so they're not dead, but the Phils have been getting quality starting pitching, and the bats have come around significantly," Joe shot back. "We got some calls back in April with concerns about Rob Thomson, too, but to me, it feels a lot, lot better."
