Dave Portnoy puts $200,000 on Phillies to win World Series
Barstool Sports creator Dave Portnoy has placed a $200,000 on the Philadelphia Phillies to win the World Series, receiving 6-1 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook—a bet that would net him a profit of $1.2 million of the Phillies' were to win it.
Portnoy has been on a ridiculous gambling run of late, placing successful future bets on the Boston Celtics to win the NBA Finals for $1.1 million, Scottie Scheffler to win the Travelers Championship for $180,000, $1 million on Michigan to win the NCAAF Championship, and more.
Portnoy's streak came to an end on Monday night when the Edmonton Oilers lost in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals to the Florida Panthers.
The Phillies are currently an MLB best 52-26 and have an 8.0 game lead over the Braves in the NL East.
