Bryce Harper is the best player on the best team in baseball, but yet he does not seem happy some games this season.
"He just looks annoyed," Joe Giglio said on Thursday's 94WIP Midday Show. "He's almost acting as if he's struggling, which he's not—he's having a good season."
Giglio believes Harper is dealing with a lingering back issue and admits he is not annoyed by Harper's demeanor, just confused.
"My theory on this is he has a back issue that comes and goes."
"I'm not annoyed by it, I'm not annoyed he didn't run [hard on a ground ball] yesterday...I'm not annoyed," said Giglio. "I'm just confused and my antenna is up. I don't think it's nothing though. This is the best team in baseball for two months and their best player looks miserable. That's not normal. Something is up here."
Bryce Harper was at the plate when a bench clearing brawl ensued after two straight pitches came in high and tight.
He also was incredibly frustrated after a first-inning strikeout.
Harper is slashing .266/.373/.516 in 52 games this season with nine doubles, 13 home runs, and 42 RBI.
