Framber Valdez shut down the Phillies bats on Saturday night, tossing 6.1 innings of one-run ball, striking out nine while giving up just four hits.
But the Astros lefty was put under the Twitter microscope while he was mowing down the Phils, as many wondered, or even suspected, that Valdez could have been aided by a foreign substance.
Video clips spread through Twitter like wildfire after Valdez appeared to be rubbing his palm before rubbing the baseball, then wiped his hand on his pants when leaving the mound after his third inning of work.
Of course, pitchers wipe their hands off on their pants all the time, and Valdez was subject to the same checks from the umpiring crew as always, but it didn't stop many from taking a few potentially suspicious clips and running with them.
