Howard Eskin: Phillies' Dombrowski to add more, unlike 76ers' fraud Morey

94WIP's Howard Eskin says the Philadelphia Phillies are not done improving their team this offseason.

"No, absolutely N-O. They are not done," Eskin said emphatically on with Hugh Douglas and Joe Giglio on Tuesday's 94WIP Midday Show. "They will get, I believe, another starter and I think they will get another pitcher for the bullpen. And they need another bat.

"They missed Rhys Hoskins last year...I'm disappointed. Bryce could have gone to right field, Castellanos in left, Hoskins at first and their lineup is immediately better."

"To answer your question, they are not done. I have confidence in Dave Dombrowski. I said last year, I think this year and next year are their best chances to win a World Series."

Eskin says the Phillies were very interested in 29-year-old right-handed starer Corbin Burnes.

"They wanted the guy from Milwaukee, but Milwaukee wants so much," Eskin said. "If they got him, they're right there with Atlanta."

Eskin reinstated his belief that Phillies president Dave Dombrowski will add more to his club and Eskin took a shot at 76ers president Daryl Morey along the way.

"Dave Dombrowski, I have confidence in him, real confidence that he is going to do something," Eskin said. "Not like that fraud with the 76ers Daryl Morey. Dave Dombrowski is a sharp, smart guy and he is going to do something and I believe that one hundred percent."
