SportsRadio94WIP's Jack Fritz got some love during the ESPN broadcast of the Marlins vs. Phillies NL Wildcard Game on Tuesday night.
"Whoever that radio producer was that came up with that idea to cheer this guy when he was struggling, he gets a ring, or something," David Cone said on the ESPN broadcast, referring to Trea Turner's standing ovation back in August.
"Everyone acknowledges that Jack Fritz, apparently it was his idea," Karl Ravech said.
Ravech is not wrong, as Fritz was the one who got the ball rolling on social media. Turner recently joined the 94WIP Marks & Reese Show and thanked them.
"First off, I owe you guys a thank you," Turner said on 94WIP last week. "I've heard that you guys were responsible so I want to say thank you to you guys. But yeah, I think my wife saw a video on social media about it and she showed me before I went to the stadium that day. So she was kind of where I heard it first. Obviously, the whole thing happened and the rest is kind of history. Started playing a lot better and it was thanks to you guys and the crowd."
