DeCamara: 'Disappointed' with Phillies' 8-8 start
The Phillies are just 8-8 through their first 16 games.
"I'm frustrated," DeCamara said of the Phillies' start. "They're now 0-4 when Wheeler pitches. Some guys obviously not hitting.
"I am still exceedingly confident that they will still make the playoffs. So everything that sort of gets discussed here in April, I feel you have to take with a grain of salt...But it's disappointing with how they're playing and I think it's particularly disappointing given the fact that they talked all Spring Training—February and March—about getting off to a fast start. And let me tell you, they have officially now not. It's not going to be a fast start. They're 8-8, they have played a tenth of the season, they have officially not gotten off to a fast start.
The Phillies have scored just 58 runs in 16 games, ranking seventh worst in Major League Baseball.
"The inconsistent bats are the main thing," DeCamara said. "Castellanos, of course had the [walk off] hit Saturday. It was a great moment, but guys he still doesn't have an extra base hit. Schwarber, obviously, isn't doing much. And Bryce is obviously struggling dramatically...And then Rojas is in his own category, but Stott has struggled. He's gotten out of the gate slow."
