Legendary Philadelphia Phillies radio broadcast Larry Andersen will now call just weekend home games this season, the team and SportsRadio 94WIP announced on Thursday afternoon.

Andersen has decided to further reduce his role as Phillies radio color commentator on 94WIP and will now call 40 of the Phillies' 81 home games in 2022.
Andersen, 68, joined the Phillies broadcast team in 1998 after playing 17 Major League Baseball seasons, including the better part of six seasons with Philadelphia.
In 2007, LA moved exclusively to the radio broadcast and became the full-time color commentator and has been ever since, working alongside legendary play-by-play radio voice in the late, great Harry Kalas and then Scott Franzke since 2009.
LA is beloved by the Philadelphia fan base for his candor and honesty during broadcasts.
The Phillies announced earlier in the month that they’ve added four former players to their radio broadcast team: Michael Bourn, Chad Durbin, Erik Kratz and Kevin Stocker, all of whom will rotate color commentator duties while working alongside Franzke for the 2022 season.
Andersen will join the Jon Marks and Ike Reese Show on SportsRadio 94WIP on Thursday afternoon at 5pm E.T.
