The Phillies are now the last NL East team standing in the playoffs, bouncing the defending champion Braves with surprising ease to advance to their first NLCS since 2010.
Philadelphia finished third in the division this season, well behind Atlanta and the second-place Mets, two teams that ended the year with 101 regular season victories.
But after neither won more than one playoff game, nor won a postseason series, the two top teams in the NL East during the regular season heard it from MLB Twitter after the Phillies wound up going the farthest in the postseason anyway:
