Bryce Harper fired up after seeing Eagles win Super Bowl: 'Pretty electric'

MV3 joins Ike, Spike & Fritz in Clearwater

Philadelphia Phillies star first baseman Bryce Harper admits the Eagles winning the Super Bowl has him fired up.

"Yeah it's sick. I mean, why would you not want it?" Harper told Ike Reese, Spike Eskin and Jack Fritz on Wednesday's 94WIP Afternoon Show from Spring Training in Clearwater, Florida.

"Anytime that you're able to do that, especially in the city of brotherly love, I heard it's the best thing in the world...If I didn't say I was excited to hopefully do that one day I'd be nuts, because that was pretty electric."

Harper was asked about his approach to the 2025 season, as he'll reach the exact midway point of his 13-year contract with the Phils.

"I just want to win the last game of the year," he said. "You know what I'm saying? That's the biggest thing...There is no other thing that like our mind should be on besides that...I want to win that last game. I think everybody's mindset should be that. We have a really good opportunity. Our pitching staff is incredible. Sanchy [Cristopher Sanchez] was throwing 98 the other day. [Jesus] Luzardo was throwing 98 the other with plus, plus off-speed stuff. Ranger is doing his thing, [Jose] Alvarado looks great. Jordan Romano, huge upside guy, he threw really well the other day.

"Obviously, as an offense we can always be better. Cutting down on strikeouts, playing the game a little bit better in big situations, big moments, big spots. Getting guys over, things like that. Not relying so heavily on the homer, obviously that's the thing that we're going to do, we're going to bang. But knowing that we need to kind of round off the edges a little bit and get a little bit better in the batter's box as a team and as an organization I think that's huge."
