DeCamara: 'Kimbrel should no longer be Phillies closer'

Craig Kimbrel is becoming a legitimate concern for the Philadelphia Phillies, as he allowed two hits and two walks in the 9th inning on Thursday, resulting in a 2-1 Diamondbacks win in Game 3 of the NLCS.

"This is not a freak out day, it was a loss," Joe DeCamara said on Friday's 94WIP Morning Show. "I'll repeat, it was a loss. But I will say my level of concern for the Phils has risen more than I'm comfortable with.

"I think the Phils are still going to win this series and I think they're still going to get to the World Series...But I look at a situation like Kimbrel and I say, what if you're facing the Astros in the World Series and it's Craig Kimbrel. That part is a major concern."

"Let's start with Craig Kimbrel. Here's where I am on Craig Kimbrel. Can't trust him. It's too much, it's too often. He should no longer be the closer of this baseball team. Now, unfortunately, I don't think you have the easiest pivot to person B. I think it's time for bullpen by committee...The guy I guess I would go to more primarily at the backend, backend, is probably Matt Strahm. Do I love it, no?"

DeCamara also added he believes it is time to move Alec Bohm out of the 4-hole.

Bohm is just 6-32 this postseason and Bryce Harper, who bats third, is seeing less strikes by the day. Harper saw just one strike out of 17 pitches in Game 3.
