DeCamara: Phillies should keep 'Dancing On My Own' as their song

Joe DeCamara believes whether or not you want the Phillies to keep their theme song, 'Dancing On My Own,' is a litmus test to the question: Are you over last postseason's loss?

DeCamara, who admits he was more appreciative of the success than angry at the collapse last postseason—which was contrary to the majority of the fan base—says he would keep the song.

"I actually believe the song 'Dancing On My Own' is actually the litmus test for this topic," DeCamara said at the beginning of Thursday's 94WIP Morning Show. "Look, I would keep it, but I'm really curious if for you it's a keep or a dump because I heard a lot of people, a lot more, say dump than keep."

DeCamara's senses are correct, as about 70-percent of fans want the Phils to get rid of the song.

"Yeah, I am. I am past it, I'm through it," Jon Ritchie said when asked by DeCamara if he's over last season's postseason.

"I, myself, my teams have lost a lot of very painful games. Maybe that shields me against this to some degree, but I put it past me. I'm excited. I can't wait to experience what's right on the horizon here because they've got so much personality and we've grown to love and appreciate that personality, it's like a friend coming home...It's taken on a whole new level of appreciation and that's where I sit...I know, Joe, you talk a lot about the Eagles, the disappointment crossing over to the Phillies and vice versa. It doesn't work quite the same way for me."
