After losing the first of four games to the San Diego Padres, the Phillies rallied to win the next three, including a walk-off extra inning win on Sunday.
The Phils are now 51-42, just 1.0 game back of the San Francisco Giants and Miami Marlins for the NL's top wildcard spot.
"This is something that I've wanted to say all year and I have been resistant to going there before I felt that it was warranted, but this is the first time this year where I can definitely say, the Phillies are a good baseball team," DeCamara said on Monday.
"It only took them 100 games to get there, but they finally did," he continued. "You know why they're good? Because they play with tenacity and it is what I would refer to as the opposite of the 76ers."
DeCamara laid out a few specific things that he liked from this weekend.
"I like that Trea Turner played some defense...I liked the unexpected dudes this weekend. We got a couple this weekend, we got [Johan] Rojas, I mean obviously right out of the gate making some fantastic defensive plays. We got freakin' Jeff Hoffman, basically, yesterday. Like that guy! Who has actually done a pretty good job this year when given the chance. One other thing...I like the way they celebrate together and there's a team aspect to this team."
