Report: Astros turned down Phillies' offer of Casty, Bohm for Tucker

The Houston Astros reported declined the Philadelphia Phillies' trade offer of Nick Castellanos and Alec Bohm for Kyle Tucker, according to MLB analyst Jim Bowden.

"Dombrowski made that offer, he offered Castellanos and Bohm for Tucker and was turned down," Bowden said. "The Astros don't like Bohm defensively."

Tucker, 27, is reportedly on the trade block this winter. The three-time All-Star left-handed hitting right fielder slashed .289/.408/.585 last season with 23 home runs and 49 RBI in just 78 games, as he dealt with a right shin injury midseason.

In 2023, Tucker slashed .284/.369/.517 with 29 home runs, 112 RBI, 30 stolen bases, 80 walks and 92 strikeouts.

Bohm, 28, continues to be in trade rumors. Bohm had his best season in 2024, hitting .280 with a career-high 44 doubles and knocking in 97 RBI for the second straight campaign. However, down the stretch Bohm struggled and went just 1-13 in the postseason.

In 34 playoff games, Bohm is hitting just .214 with two home runs and 25 strikeouts.

Bohm is projected to make $8.1 million in arbitration this season and set to become an unrestricted free-agent in 2027.

Phillies manager Rob Thomson recently said of Bohm, "I know the rumors are flying all over the place. We're not shopping him, but people are approaching us on him so you got to listen."

Castellanos, 32, had the opposite 2024 as Bohm, starting off slow and coming on late. Casty finished the season slashing .254/.311/.431 with 23 home runs, 86 RBI, and 30 doubles playing all 162 games.

Casty has two years remaining on his five-year, $100 million contract, where he'll make $20 million in 2025 and 2026 before becoming a free-agent in 2027.
