Seltzer 'would not trade' Aidan Miller for Robert, Chisholm, or Bellinger

Dave Dombrowski and the Philadelphia Phillies have told executives around Major League Baseball that they are targeting a center fielder ahead of the July 30th trade deadline, according to MLB analyst Jim Bowden.

The Phillies are "trying to fix center field and they've made it the priority… And so, Luis Robert of the White Sox, Jazz Chisholm of the Miami Marlins, and Cody Bellinger of the Cubs have been their top priority," Bowden said on MLB radio.

Bowden said he believes the Phillies are going to have to include Aidan Miller and a top pitching prospect in a deal for one of the above aforementioned center fielders.

"I think there is no way they are trading Aidan Miller for a center fielder.

Miller ain't go no where and neither is Crawford. They're not going anywhere."

Seltzer says he would not trade Miller for any of Robert, Chisholm, or Bellinger.

Miller, 20, is the Phillies' No. 2 ranked prospect by MLB Pipeline behind only Andrew Painter.

The right-handed hitting infielder is slashing .275/.401/.483 with five home runs and 26 RBI in 39 games for the single-A Clearwater Threshers.

Robert, Chisholm, and Bellinger are 26, 26, and 28 years old, respectively. Robert and Chisholm are both one-time All-Stars. Bellinger was an All-Star in 2017 and 2019, an NLCS MVP in 2018, an NL MVP in 2019, and a World Series Champion in 2020.
