Seltzer: 'Boos will come out today for Taijuan and they're justified'

The boos will come out today for Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Taijuan Walker if he struggles.

"We know if Taijuan struggles the boos are going to come out," James Seltzer said on Wednesday's 94WIP Morning Show, filling in for Joe DeCamara. "They're just going to and honestly it's justified. This guy should not be pitching for the Phillies. We don't care how much money you gave him. We don't care! It is what it is, it's a sunk cost, accept it."

Walker, 32, has been struggling immensely of late. The Phillies have lost eight straight games in which Walker has starter.

Over his last three starts since returning from the injured list, Walker has allowed 12 earned runs and five home runs in just 11.2 innings.

On the season, Walker is 3-5 with a 6.26 ERA and many fans and media are calling for the Phillies to replace him in the rotation. However, Walker is in just year two of his four-year, $72 million contract with Philadelphia.
