Report: Phillies are most likely landing spot for Trea Turner

The Phillies are reportedly the top suitor for Trea Turner.

"A lot of people here at the meetings believe the Phillies are perhaps the most likely landing spot of all for Trea Turner," Jon Morosi said Thursday at the general manager meetings in Las Vegas.

Morosi listed two main factors for why the Phils are seemingly the favorites for the 29-year-old two-time All-Star shortstop.

1. Turner's close relationship with Bryce Harper

Turner and Harper spent four seasons together with the Nationals and have a close relationship. We know how Harper has previously had success in recruiting players to Philadelphia, like J.T. Realmuto.

2. Phillies decline Jean Segura's option

The Phillies declined the $17 million option of Jean Segura, meaning they could easily move Bryson Stott over to second base to make room for Turner at shortstop.
