The Philadelphia Phillies are acquiring 32-year-old left-handed reliever Tanner Banks.
"Getting a lefty reliever, especially with the questions about [Jose] Alvarado and obviously [Gregory] Soto no one trusts at all, I think is actually pretty important," Jack Fritz said on the 94WIP Afternoon Show reacting to the trade.
The Phillies are trading 19-year-old infielder prospect William Bergolla, their No. 11 ranked prospect via MLB.com.
Banks is 2-2 with a 4.13 ERA. He has 55 strikeouts and 15 walks in 48.0 innings. He has been dominant against left-handed hitters.
