The Philadelphia Phillies have acquired right handed relief pitcher David Robertson, according to Jeff Passan.
In return, Chicago will receive minor league right-hander Ben Brown, according to reports. Brown was rated as the 26th-best prospect in Philadelphia’s farm system, according to MLB Pipeline.
Robertson, 37, did his job well with Chicago, recording 14 saves while posting a 2.23 ERA and 1.04 WHIP 36 games.
Robertson is a 14-year MLB veteran with a 2.89 ERA for his career. This was his first season with the Cubs.
Brown, 22, had a 3.08 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 16 appearances, including 15 starts, at high Class-A Jersey Shore this season. He also has 105 strikeouts in 73 innings. The Phillies selected him in the 33rd round of the 2017 MLB Draft. He was recently promoted to Double-A.
