Just moments after his press conference with the media addressing his brand new 115.5 million dollar contract over five seasons on Monday, J.T. Realmuto joined Jon Marks and Ike Reese on SportsRadio94WIP's Afternoon Show.
The two-time All-Star catcher, who has secured a $23.1 million averaged annual value, says the Phillies "made sure I knew they wanted me back."
Marks asked Realmuto if he left more more on the table to remain in Philadelphia.
"I'm not going to talk about that, I don't want to put any other team's business out there or anything like that," Realmuto said. "But I was pretty confident the whole time that I wanted to be back in Philly and that's what mattered most to me. So, obviously we had discussions with other teams and other teams were involved, but Philly is where we wanted to be and we're happy to be back."
The 29-year-old catcher, who was a former high school football player, also talked a little bit about the Eagles and the Carson Wentz vs. Jalen Hurts saga, admitting he's both a Wentz guy and a Hurts guy.
