Rob Thomson 'kind of expects' Nick Castellanos to have a bounce back year

After a brutal first season as a Philadelphia Phillie, Nick Castellanos is 12-40 (.300) with seven doubles and six RBI in his first 11 games.

Phillies manager Rob Thomson expects Castellanos to have a bounce back season.

"Actually Castellanos is off to a really good start too," Thomson said on Wednesday's 94WIP Morning Show. "If he hits the way he's hit in the past, and I kind of expect that, he's going to have a really bounce back year—we're going to produce a lot of runs."

After a 2021 All-Star season with the Reds where he hit .309 with 34 home runs and 100 RBI, Castellanos finished last season with slashing .263/.305/.389 with only 13 home runs and 62 RBI.

The Phillies are off to a 4-7 rocky start to the season, as they continue to deal with injuries. They host the Marlins today at 4:05pm on 94WIP.
