X-Rays negative on Ranger Suarez's hand

It looks like the Phillies avoid a crisis as X-rays came back negative on Ranger Suarez's hand.

The 28-year-old Phillies' starting pitcher was hit in the hand with a 106 MPH line drive during Saturday's start at Citizens Bank Park. Suarez immediately left the game and did not return.

"Feel pretty lucky right now," Phillies manager Rob Thomson said after the game when X-rays were negative via Matt Gelb.

There is still some swelling in Suarez's thumb and the Phillies are uncertain if he will make his start (via Alex Coffey), which is scheduled to be during the Phillies-Mets London series on Saturday, June 8th.

Suarez is having a career year this season, as he is 9-1 with a 1.70 ERA in 12 starts.

The Phillies went on to win the game, beating the Cardinals 6-1. Spencer Turnbull pitched 3.0 innings in relief, allowing no hits and striking out six batters earning the win (3-0).

Bryce Harper hit a two-run upper deck home run in the bottom of the 7th, his 14th of the season, to put the game away for the Phils.
