NFL training camp is right around the corner and perhaps this Yankees Stadium security guard could get an invite to the Jets or Giants.
During the top of the sixth inning of Tuesday’s Yankees-Phillies game, a fan ran onto the field at the stadium in the Bronx but a security guard wrapped him up and brought him down.
The fan tried to fight through it and get back up, but the guard kept his arms wrapped around him and did not let him leave until more security and police wer able to help detain the reckless fan.
SI’s Max Goodman caught a portion of the action from the press box.
Fans at Yankee Stadium have been making headlines lately, and not for good reasons.
Over the weekend, a fan was banned for life from the stadium after throwing a baseball back onto the field that hit Red Sox left fielder Alex Verdugo in the back.
The incident caused the Red Sox to momentarily leave the field while Verdugo was restrained while yelling back toward the crowd.
There was another report on Monday that Catherine Varitek, the wife of former Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek, claimed a fan spit on her 9-year-old daughter outside the stadium.
