On the day where SportsRadio94WIP released that Steve Carlton was voted as the eighth best Philadelphia athlete of the last 50 years, "Lefty" joined Angelo Cataldi on the 94WIP Morning Show.

Carlton, now 75, pitched for a ridiculous 24 years including 15 with the Phillies. Cataldi asked if he thinks he pitched too long.
"First of all, every time I went out there I was breaking my own records," Carlton joked. "Some of these longevity records, you have to pitch long periods of time just to get there to start breaking these records. Once you get there, it's like the end of your career! It was fun for me because every time I went out, I kept pushing the bar."
Carlton's resume speaks for itself.
4,136 strikeouts (4th most), 329 wins (11th most), six one-hitters (11st most), 6-time 20-plus game winner, last pitcher to throw 300 innings, winner of 25-plus games in a season, four-time Cy Young winner, 10-time All-Star, two-time World Series Champion, five-time strikeout leader, Hall of Fame (first ballot, 95% of vote), and No. 32 retired by Phillies.
Sheesh!
Cataldi and the morning show were unhappy Carlton came in at No. 8 on the G.O.A.T. of Broad Street rankings, as many who saw him pitch expected him to be in the top three, understandably so.
