Obviously, we all know Offset as one of the elusive members of Migos, one half of the rap royalty marriage he shares with Cardi B, and the chart-topping singer-songwriter that he is. But now the rapper is making his first debut on the silver screen.
Offset, also known as, Kiari Kendrell Cephus, will be acting alongside Pete Davidson, O’Shea Jackson Jr, and Camila Mendes in the newly announced drama, American Sole.
The STXfilms movie will be directed by Ian Edwards and will depict the lives of Davidson and Jackson who play twenty-somethings dealing with copious amounts of college debt. However, the duo’s quick cash, sneaker resale scheme might just allow them to live the lives they’ve sought after. When Davidson and Jackson’s dreams quickly become dashed after their startup begins running out of money, they are faced with turning to a suspicious investor to keep everything from going belly-up. Offset comes into play in the film as a computer engineer who is crucial to the film’s storyline.

Aside from playing a critical role in the film, Offset will also work to develop the American Sole: The Soundtrack Album. The rapper is set to include at least one original song on the upcoming soundtrack. Offset will collaborate with Edelman and STXfilms’ Music executive Jason Markey to put together the film’s soundtrack. The American Sole soundtrack will be a landmark music project for Offset, as this will be the first time the rapper has taken on a solo project for a major motion picture.
In an exciting statement about the new movie Offset shared, “this is my first feature film as an actor. After doing NCIS, I knew I wanted to do more acting. Landing this role in American Sole is dope. Not only do I get to star in the movie, but I get to bring my skills to the table as the curator and executive producer for the soundtrack. I’m bringing my world to the big screen. I hope the world is ready.”
