The FBI has apparently warned JAY-Z to delete any “sensitive emails” and has been notified about an “imminent hack.”
Complex reports that the music mogul was “urged by federal officials to delete his emails over hacking concerns.”
The reported warnings come after a breach of contract lawsuit was filed against the rapper by Parlux Fragrances. Rolling Stone reports that the suit argues that JAY-Z did not properly promote the fragrance he launched with the brand and that he “destroyed evidence” related to the court case.
While testifying, the Roc-A-Fella co-founder cited poor promotional methods on Parlux’s end, calling the brand’s work, “crappy.” The fragrance company has argued that the artist did not hold up his contractual promotional agreements.
The 23-time GRAMMY winner told the New York Daily News per a brand lawyer, “I’ve always had problems with the quality of lazy work that was coming from Parlux.”
